Haegue Yang: In the Cone of Uncertainty at The Bass
I had the honor of working closely with artist for this exhibition. The exhibition In the Cone of Uncertainty, is a selection of Yang’s oeuvre spanning the last decade. An expression of the predicted path of hurricanes. It is mean’t to show our eagerness and desperation to track the unstable and ever-evolving future, this exhibition addresses current worries about climate change, overpopulation and resource depletion.
On the design end I was able to produce all signage aspects including street banners, exhibition vinyl, magazine adverts, informational collateral and social media assets. Haegue, as a designer herself, joined me in co-designing her brochure, which was a real treat. She wanted something more in-depth for her gallery labels, to help the viewer differentiate her pieces, so I enlisted the help of Illustrator Alejandra Alvergue. Together Alejandra and myself created a set of illustrations to match the artists individual pieces. A project that Haegue was so happy with that she requested the images to use for future shows around the world.
